Allan Stone: Non-Western artwork to hit the auction block

Allan Stones collection of African, Oceanic, Indonesian, pre-Columbian and Native American artwork is going to be on the auction block in November at Sotheby's in New York. The 300+ pieces of work are looking to fetch upwards of $20 million and is considered to be one of the largest African art collections to go on the market in the US.

Stone had about 20,000 pieces of artwork at the time of his death in 2006. The Fall 2013 auction will consist of the African, Oceanic and Indonesian artwork while the Fall 2014 auction will be of the rest of the African artwork and the pre-Columbian and Native American works.
