Pop Culture: Sesame Street classic paintings through history

Glancing through pintrest is one of my favorite things to do when I am feeling bored with the internet. I always find myself looking at projects for my house, crafty things to make and random things that I find enjoyable. It is also a great way to see what my family and friends (and various random people who follow me and I follow) 'pin' for later. One such person pinned an interesting photo of Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street portrayed as Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. I followed the pin and found this wonderful family website featuring art of a Muppet's/ Sesame Street artist inserted in famous paintings throughout time.

Here are some of my favorites (but there are a ton more on the website):

Ernie and Bert in Frida Kahlo's: 'Ernesto y Berta' based off of her 1931 painting 'Frieda and Diego Rivera'
